with Paula Pugh
Available spots
Service Description
Monday June 8 10:00 AM - Noon Cost: $11 This class is for anyone who is feeling desire to begin or continue an art journaling practice. Beginners or experienced artists enjoy the opportunity to produce an interesting page. We work together talking about how to use a page in a creative way as well as using watercolor and words to enhance the story. Each month Paula brings a different exercise, theme and a plan to achieve a fun page. As we work, we talk about water techniques, page design, using ink for accents and having fun. Paula brings journals of her own so participants can see what is possible. Bring your watercolors, sketch book with mixed media (90 lb) or water color paper ( 140 lb), brush, pencil, eraser, spritzer, permanent black ink pen. Paula has about 50 different themed journals on her shelves and loves to encourage others to start to appreciate the joy of seeing the world in a new way and documenting it with a personal style. Paula Pugh has been journaling for more than 20 years: travel, everyday events, specific subjects, or just for the fun of it. She loves using watercolor with pen and ink to enhance the story. Sometimes she writes a lot with small sketches. Sometimes she just draws on a page with few words. You can find her art work in Whidbey Art Gallery, 220 2nd St. in Langley. To pay on-line, click "class fees" button at the top of our website. Or you can put cash or a check made out to WIAC (Whidbey Island Arts Council) in the payment jar in our classroom.
