Thursday, October 9 1 - 3 PM Cost: $11 Come and be inspired to start a watercolor journal or get knew ideas for a journal you are already working with. This is a once-a-month class. (We don't yet have a regular time for it). In the first class Paula will get you set up by talking about different types of sketchbooks and why we do it. You'll then start your first page. Paula will bring several of her beautiful journals for inspiration. In each monthly class we will focus on something relevant to sketchbooks: drawing, watercolor techniques, text, intention, color. We will design pages each class, but the focus will be on a specific aspect of creating a page. Please come with your sketchbook, which needs to have mixed media or watercolor paper, watercolors, brush, pencil, eraser and permanent black ink pen. In a personal journal, you make the rules. It’s easy to experiment , because if you create something you don’t like, you can just turn the page and try again or try something else! Let’s explore these ideas together. Paula Pugh has been journaling for more than 20 years: travel, everyday events, specific subjects, or just for the fun of it. She loves using watercolor with pen and ink to enhance the story. Sometimes she writes a lot with small sketches. Sometimes she just draws on a page with few words. You can find her art work in Whidbey Art Gallery, 220 2nd St. in Langley.
