The Art of Seeing: Cell Phone Photography with Amber Braxton Mondays, October 12, 19 & 26 Cost: $65 9:30 am - 12:30 pm You don’t need an expensive camera to create meaningful photographs. You need to learn how to see what’s already around you. In this hands-on cell phone photography class, participants will explore the creative side of photography by slowing down, observing, and noticing the details, light, patterns, and moments we often overlook. We’ll learn how composition, perspective, contrast, color, light and shadow, and intentional framing can transform an everyday scene into a compelling photograph. Participants will practice photographing with their own phones while experimenting with different ways of seeing the same subject. We’ll also explore simple editing techniques using mobile tools, including adjustments to light, color, contrast, cropping, and other finishing touches that can strengthen an image without losing what made the moment interesting in the first place. This class is designed for beginners and anyone who wants to become more intentional and creative with the camera they carry every day. No photography experience or special equipment is needed. Just a charged phone and a willingness to look a little closer. Amber Braxton is a photographer, artist, and educator that has a passion in finding the often-overlooked details that inspire curiosity and wonder. Her experience spans everything from portraiture and events to fine art nature photography, and she brings that broad knowledge into every class she teaches. As an educator, Amber believes photography is about more than learning camera settings. It’s about learning how to notice the world around us. She creates approachable, hands-on classes that encourage experimentation, observation, and creative confidence. Her goal is to make art feel accessible while helping each student discover their own way of seeing the world.
