Available spots
Service Description
Monday April 6, 13, 20 & 27 10 am - noon In they 4-class series, participants will create art using watercolors on canvas. You will learn an easy method for painting landscapes with cloud elements using little water while creating fast results. Imagine an Andrew Wyeth Style of painting. Cheryl will be supplying materials in order to help students master this technique. A celebrated painter known for her innovative use of watercolor, traces her artistic career to a pivotal conversation with Andrew Wyeth after graduating from Franklin Pierce University in 1979. Inspired by Wyeth's bold encouragement: "Good God..try everything, and don't let anyone tell you not to," Weisz pioneered a technique of applying watercolor thickly, straight from the tube, creating hyper-detailed landscapes and animal portraits. Through the 1980's, Weisz brought this vivid style to advertising agencies across the East Coast, where her watercolor canvases elevated product illustrations, particularly in food advertising. Now, in retirement, Weisz returns to her roots, capturing the spirit of the Pacific Northwest -- its landscapes, landmarks and beloved pets -- through her singular watercolor style. Cheryl L. Weisz's work continues to push boundaries, embodying the spirit of creative daring she first embraced decades ago. For more information, visit www.cherylsart.com
