Paste Paper is a fun activity using paste and paper, art combs and found objects to make intricate designs and patterns for artful papers. Originally, paste papers were used to make decorative, bug-proof book covers. Today, paste papers are used for collages, gifts, gift wrap, making paper bags, lining drawers, and as original works of art. This is a great workshop for fun, and play, beginners and experienced artists alike. In class one we will be introduced to paste papers and learn how to make the paint, as well as getting started with the tools, techniques and skills as we make several pieces of paste paper. In class two, we will continue refining our skills and techniques making more papers, as well as seeing differing ways to use the papers at home, and in art. By the end of class we will bring home 10-20 18” x 24” sheets of beautifully designed original works of art to be used for a variety of art projects.
