Paper Vessels: a Fresh Take on Sculpture
With Hannah Hunter
Service Description
Thursday, September 11 1 - 4 PM Cost: $20 This is a one session class Ceramic vessels have a timeless beauty but clay is not the only way to shape something striking. If you are drawn to the beauty and versatility of paper--the textures, the colors, the way it holds stories in text and images--this workshop offers a fresh take on sculptural form. We'll transform recycled card stock and cardboard (think cereal boxes) into using just glue and a pot of paint. I first learned this technique from British potter Kate Temple, and I've been exploring its possibilities ever since. Join me and discover how paper can take shape in unexpected ways. Come experiment, play, and create something beautiful. Hannah Klaus Hunter is a Langley-based artist who works with monoprinting, collage, and botanicals from the surrounding landscape to create layered paper compositions that draw attention to the natural world.
