Service Description

Wednesdays, October 7, 14, 21 & 28 1:00 - 4:00 PM $65 Intermediate level Learn to make your own quilted tote bag in this four-week course. You will plan the design and colors, cut all the pieces and stitch the 5 sides for your tote. We will then sandwich the sides and the bag lining together to quilt. We will make straps, attach to the bag, and bind the top edge. You will leave the class with a beautiful large padded tote bag. You will receive a supply list by email before the class with instructions on how much batting and fabric to bring. Bring fabric, thread and a portable sewing machine if you have one. If you need a sewing machine in the classroom, we can supply one to use during the class. Luanne Seymour is a designer, textile artist, author and teacher. She has been sewing clothing and quilts almost all of her life. She designs and makes textile art, quilts, clothing and bags and has taught her techniques in workshops and classes since the 1980's. Her work has been exhibited in textile art and quilt shows all over the country. You can find her work at www.luanneseymour.com and on instagram @luanne.seymour You can pay $30 by credit card as part of your registration process, or you can put cash or a check made out to WIAC (Whidbey Island Arts Council) in the payment jar in our classroom.
