Mondays, October 5, 12, 19 &26 1:00 – 4:00 PM Cost: $65 + $5 mat fee to instructor Jackie has been leading collage classes at Create Space for several years and has recently experienced a new burst of energy and excitement for the possibilities. In this class, in addition to typical collage elements like beautiful and exotic papers, she will introduce a multitude of new materials and techniques to incorporate into your journals, art pieces, and gift making. We will be using canvas, wood pallets, mat board, fabrics, embroidery, beads, watercolor, acrylics, tyvek, cold wax and some encaustic (hot wax). Together we will create a magical environment in which we will surprise ourselves with our capacities to create beautiful collage. Jackie Amatucci has been a mixed media artist for over 10 years. She also is a potter, jewelry maker, basket maker and seamstress. She loves sharing her skills and delights in supporting others to make their own masterpieces. Jackie is co-founder of Create Space Langley. As a high school teacher for 30 years, her love of teaching and learning has never waned. Jackie was a teaching artist at Power of Hope Teen Camps for many years. She currently is a mentor and teaching artist for Seattle-based Young Women Empowered. She regularly taught sewing, mixed media art, and jewelry making at Create Space Langley prior to the covid shut down. You can pay $65 by credit card as part of your registration process, or you can put cash or a check made out to WIAC (Whidbey Island Arts Council) in the payment jar in our classroom. If the full fee is a stretch for you, please pay as you are able - this ensures the future of Create Space.
