Let’s play with BAGS! with Jackie Amatucci Wednesdays, 1 - 4 pm April 15, 22 & 29 Cost: $50 plus $10 mat fee Design your own special bag or bags using patterns and beautiful cloth. We will make Komebukuru Japanese Rice Bags, Japanese Knot Bags, Japanese Folded Bags, Canvas Over the Shoulder Shopping Bags, and Decorative Kitchy Wearable Bags. We will provide beautiful fabric and a choice of patterns to choose from. You can add pockets, zippers, buttons, ribbons but most importantly durability and utility. These bags make wonderful gifts and are fun to use yourself. Making your own beautiful bags is a creative and sustainable process. Bring your sewing machine, your desire to create something you make. You’ll be able to proudly say, “Look what I made!” Ways to pay: 1. By credit card through donate button on our website: createspacelangley.org 2. By check made out to WIAC (Whidbey Island Arts Council)--place in payment jar in your classroom 3. By cash placed in payment jar in your classroom Jackie Amatucci has been a mixed media artist for over 10 years. She also is a potter, jewelry maker, basket maker and seamstress. She loves sharing her skills and delights in supporting others to make their own masterpieces. Jackie is co-founder of Create Space Langley. As a high school teacher for 30 years, her love of teaching and learning has never waned. Jackie was a teaching artist at Power of Hope Teen Camps for many years. She currently is a mentor and teaching artist for Seattle-based Young Women Empowered. She regularly taught sewing, mixed media art, and jewelry making at Create Space Langley prior to the covid shut down.
