Service Description
Learning to Tell Personal HoliDazed Stories with Diane Wyzga Mondays, November 2, 9, 16 & 23 1 to 3:30 pm Cost: $55 Welcome to the HoliDazed! Some folks love them and others would rather go on a long sea cruise. Either way we all have lived experience memory moments of the HoliDazed that have the potential to connect, delight, engage, and inspire us. You have those meaningful stories—but you may not know how to recognize or shape the moments in your life that contain them. In this entertaining and interactive 4-week workshop you will get the tools to learn how to recognize stories in your own experience, apply storytelling elements, shape them with a clear structure, and keep people listening as you tell your story out loud. We’ll use paired exercises, writing, delivery, and personal coaching to create personal HoliDazed stories. You’ll leave with more stories taking shape, reusable frameworks, and the confidence that comes from having actually done it. Space limited to 8 adults. Bring pen and writing notebook New and returning participants are welcome. Diane Wyzga has been wearing a storyteller's hat for over 30 years in nursing, business, law, podcasting, teaching, & coaching the power of our voice and stories. When someone comes to you with a story they need to tell, they are bringing you something they’ve been processing, shaping, and trying to make sense of—possibly for decades. The story is already there. It has been there the whole time. My job, as a story doula is not to give you a story. It is to help you find the one you are already living. You can pay $55 by credit card as part of your registration process, or you can put cash or a check made out to WIAC (Whidbey Island Arts Council) in the payment jar in our classroom. If the full fee is a stretch for you, please pay as you are able - this ensures the future of Create Space.
