Biography Liesel Lund studied fine art and scientific illustration at The Evergreen State College, The University of Washington and Gage Academy of Art. She designed graphics for Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo's Butterflies and Blooms exhibit, children’s books for Wright Group/McGraw-Hill, and textile prints for Tommy Bahama's tropically inspired clothing. Since 2010, Liesel has been teaching art workshops in art journaling, watercolor, book binding, oil painting and jewelry. She has taught at Daniel Smith Art Store in Bellevue and Seattle and at Winslow Art Center as well as workshops across the U.S. in California, Nebraska, New Jersey, Illinois, Texas and Washington. After moving to Whidbey in 2016, she has been painting in oils and watercolors full time and showing her work at local shows, including the Whidbey Island Studio Tour. A third generation artist, Liesel follows in the creative footsteps of her grandmother, a ceramic bead and fiber artist, and her mother, a traditional quilter, author and garden designer. About My Classes My aim is for class to be fun and relaxing, while full of useful information, demos and techniques. I break everything down into small steps so it is never overwhelming. I know how easy it is to feel anxious about making art. This is a very supportive class and I'm happy to answer any questions and go over things again as needed.
