Service Description
Tuesdays: 3 - 5 pm May 5, 12, 19, 28 $45 plus materials Join Susan for an introduction to the wonderful world of gouache. A water-based medium with origins dating back to Egypt and Persia, gouache is often referred to as opaque watercolor. More flexible than watercolor and less messy than oil, Gouache serves as a "happy medium" between the two and is perfect for travel. In this course, students will explore the materials and techniques that make learning gouache accessible, with plenty of opportunities for hands-on exploration. A materials list will be provided upon registration. Supplies can be purchased at Casey's Crafts in Bayview. Artist bio: Susan McMananmen is an award-winning artist originally from Everett, now living happily in Freeland. She received her B.A. in Graphic Design and Illustration from Western Washington University and has continued her study of painting under many esteemed instructors. Susan practiced "daily painting" for ten years, a discipline that significantly shaped her craft. Her work is collected internationally and is frequently exhibited locally.
