Saturdays, February 8, 15 & 22 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM Cost: $45 Have you put your sewing machine in a closet, hoping that “someday” you will get it out and sew again. This class is that “someday.” Jackie loves to assist others in getting comfortable in using and maintaining their sewing machine. She has been sewing since she was in grade school. She loves knowing how things work and helping others to do the same. . Topics to be covered : -that ever elusive bobbin tension and proper placement -stitches to be used on different fabrics -oiling and maintenance of your machine -sewing curved and straight lines - how to repair mistakes in stitching We will also deconstruct a pattern in order to understand and create our own patterns. Jackie Amatucci has been a mixed media artist for over 10 years. She also is a potter, jewelry maker, basket maker and seamstress. She loves sharing her skills and delights in supporting others to make their own masterpieces. Jackie is co-founder of Create Space Langley. As a high school teacher for 30 years, her love of teaching and learning has never waned. Jackie was a teaching artist at Power of Hope Teen Camps for many years. She currently is a mentor and teaching artist for Seattle-based Young Women Empowered. She regularly taught sewing, mixed media art, and jewelry making at Create Space Langley prior to the covid shut down.
