About the event
Don’t let even the smallest fabric scraps end up in the landfill! Learn to combine small and medium sized fabric scraps (linen, cotton or silk) to make a beautiful fabric collage. What a great way to use some of the fabric you have created in Luanne’s block printing class. The resulting fabric collage is very strong and makes excellent bags, pillow covers, or even garments. The technique can be done using hand or machine sewing. Each result is different and very beautiful. (3 hours) (basic sewing machine skills are helpful but not required) $20 per session.
Luanne Seymour is an artist and teacher who happens to love pies. Before she moved to Whidbey Island she was a Senior Creative Director at Adobe Systems for over 25 years. That was amazing — but the best job she’s ever had is teaching art. Luanne has been teaching art, design, photography and sewing for more than half her life. She currently runs her own Etsy shop (https://www.etsy.com/shop/LuanneSeymourDesign) where she sells handmade bags made from up-cycled materials. She also writes a blog (http://luanneseymourdesign.wordpress.com) about her experiences as an artist and Etsy shop owner. She still likes to take photos and you can see those on her Instagram feed: https://www.instagram.com/luanne.seymour/.
