About the event

Block Printing on Fabric or Paper

With Langley Fabric Artist Luanne Seymour

We had so much fun in our first two classes with Luanne, she's agreed to hold two more sessions on block printing. We will create fabric designs using blocks that you draw, carve and then print with. Learn the basics of carving a design with a lino cutter and Soft-Kut printing blocks. Then you’ll print your design onto different fabrics or papers. Beginners as well as previous class participants are welcome. Returnees will learn more advanced techniques like printing in multi-colors. All tools and materials will be supplied. No sewing required. This is a two part class: Tuesday Feb. 19 and Tuesday Feb 26 from 9:30-12:30. You are welcome to attend one or both sessions. Cost per session: $20 include all materials.

Luanne Seymour is an artist and teacher who happens to love pies. Before she moved to Whidbey Island she was a Senior Creative Director at Adobe Systems for over 25 years. That was amazing — but the best job she’s ever had is teaching art. Luanne has been teaching art, design, photography and sewing for more than half her life.

She currently runs her own Etsy shop (https://www.etsy.com/shop/LuanneSeymourDesign) where she sells handmade bags made from up-cycled materials. She also writes a blog (http://luanneseymourdesign.wordpress.com) about her experiences as an artist and Etsy shop owner. She still likes to take photos and you can see those on her Instagram feed: https://www.instagram.com/luanne.seymour/.
